Felicity's Prom

A painting of my beautiful sister from the day of her high school prom, photographed in our old front garden in Eaglesham. It’s hard to believe this took place so many years ago, as a part of me still thinks of her as she was then when we lived together. She now lives with her husband and a family of her own. Time flies.

The Old Toll Bar

When taking reference images for this painting, I discovered from the barmaid that this pub is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, having opened in 1874. To my surprise, this makes it older than Renoir's 'Dance at Bougival' which is the basis for the couple depicted in my painting.

The pub has a charming atmosphere with huge advertising mirrors, dark wooden carved paneling, and lively music. It's a real treat to have the Old Toll Bar as my local. If you ever see me there, don’t be afraid to buy me a pint.

The first time I went to Offshore Coffee on Gibson St, I was taken by the open layout, bright colours and grand windows which are covered in condensation on cold days.
