I am a visual artist living and working in Glasgow, having graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art with a BA (Hons) in Painting in 2022. During my time at ECA, I was fortunate to receive the Helen A. Rose Bequest (2022) and the Paolozzi Award (2021).
My work is predominantly focused on figuration and the human experience, often inspired by my surroundings and social groups. I aim to hold onto the familiar while transforming spaces into imaginative stages for new narratives. Using artistic license, I like to insert humor and imaginative storytelling into my work, creating altered compositions and moods that are sympathetic to real locations—often local businesses—while offering fresh perspectives.
I enjoy the challenge of encouraging audiences to find a sense of familiarity in my images while accepting them as entirely new creations. I also find humor in incorporating personal subject matter, giving seemingly insignificant moments a new significance.
